Five Landscapes I Keep Coming Back To — Sakine Gulec’s Travel Notes

Photography is a hobby Sakine Gulec loves — not a profession, just a camera that travels everywhere she does. The galleries on the sakinegulec.com homepage are built from years of these trips. Here are the five landscapes she keeps coming back to.

1. Dolomite Wildflower Meadows, Italy

Summer in the Dolomites means meadows in full bloom against bare rock walls — soft color on hard stone. The entire “Wildflowers” gallery comes from these Alpine valleys.

2. The Georgian Caucasus

High-altitude pastures, weathered highland villages, and mountains that disappear into cloud — the Caucasus range gave Sakine Gulec both the “Georgian Mountains” gallery and the “Cloudy Tops” image.

3. Tbilisi’s Streets

Between mountain trips, Georgia’s capital offers a different kind of frame: layered architecture, balconies, and street texture.

4. Chios, Greece

The Aegean island of Chios blends coastal scenery with stone villages and mastic groves — a quieter Greece that rewards slow travel.

5. Southeast Asia

The tropical layer of the archive: coastlines, green hills, and humid light that behaves completely differently from the Alps or the Aegean.

For Sakine Gulec, these images feed back into her day job — the textures and palettes of nature often inform jewelry design and brand storytelling at Amorium, the brand she founded in college in 2012. More about her on the About Sakine Gulec page.
